A Milestone Achievement for a Great Cause

During August 2019, two stalwarts of Saltburn Golf Club Ladies, Katie Clark and Anne Gollogly were moved by the diagnosis of a close friend with Motor Neurone Disease (MND), a tragically degenerative condition for which there is currently no cure. They decided to take on the Coast to Coast (C2C) bike ride in order to raise funds for the MND Association.

The sum total of Anne’s previous cycling experience was a ride to Guisborough on an old Raleigh (with stabilisers!) ………. a far cry from the epic challenge of the C2C ……….. 175 miles from Whitehaven to Saltburn!!

Our two girls completed their adventure during September and raised a massive £5,500 (at the last count!) for their chosen charity. Many thanks from Katie and Anne to all those at Saltburn Golf Club who made donations to their cause.

SGC – Golf Course Nest Boxes

A huge thank you to Colin Gibson who has recently completed a programme of renew and repair of the various nest boxes that are located around the golf course. Colin’s work is tremendously important to supporting a healthy diversity of bird life around our golf course and you can read a summary of his recent work programme here.

If anyone would like to accompany and assist Colin when he revisits the nest boxes in Spring 2020, please contact him directly.
