Advice has been sought and given regarding the continuation of handicap adjustments through the winter. If we handicapped we would have to have the course re-measured for winter competitions, a new score card would need producing and changes to course furniture would be needed. All this would cost money and would be too expensive for the club’s present circumstances. When we finish playing off the whites for winter, we will carry out the annual handicap review ready for the winter period.  I will then review the scores when I do the scores following Saturday competitions each Sunday and will make any handicap adjustments accordingly.

Barry Hodgson is organising a Christmas competition. Details will be posted. If we cannot play the competition because of poor weather the prizes will be raffled prior to Christmas.

Winter golf always appears to encourage slow play. We should be aiming at no more than 3 hours 20 minutes  a round. If you can’t score PICK IT UP! According to the new rules introduced this year we should be spending no longer than 3 minutes to look for ball and we should be playing when ready. Keep up with players in front of you. If anybody wishes to volunteer to be a course warden then please get in touch with me.
