The House Committee Update: July 2020
The Clubhouse will be opening once again on Saturday 4th July 2020. This is a very important step towards a “new normal” for Saltburn Golf Club and we would urge members to take careful note of the initial arrangements that are described below, and to help our catering team (and each other) to make sure the proposed arrangements keep people safe.
The lounge area will be the main area opened for access during the initial opening period. The bar and snooker room areas will remain closed, as will the locker rooms. In preparing the lounge to accept members, everyone must observe the social distancing rules set out by UK Government and must follow the guidelines published by England Golf.
The catering franchisee, Simon Nixon, and his team will be offering a limited bar food menu and will be serving drinks, including alcohol. The arrangement and spacing of seating within the lounge will be designed to align with social distancing guidelines and members are specifically requested not to move seating or tables around. Some limited seating will also be provided on the balcony and in the patio area at the far end of the lounge, depending on weather conditions.
All drinks and food must be ordered from table – directly ordering from the bar area will not be permissible - and orders will be brought to the table by a member of the catering team. Payments are to be made by contactless card or cash. Catering team members will be wearing PPE for the safety and protection of both members and themselves.
These initial arrangements for the re-opening of the clubhouse at Saltburn Golf Club on July 4th will be reviewed after a period of 14 days in order to check whether any adjustments to arrangements, membership use or levels of service need to be made.
Simon, the franchisee, has asked me to pass on his appreciation for the great support he has had from members, both before and during lock down, and that he is looking forward to seeing everyone again.
These arrangements, although unusual, are an important step in the direction of the “new normal” and because they may be in place for some time (the next few months and possibly longer?), it is appreciated that this will be a testing and trying time for club members. Your continued patience, collaboration with the catering team and observance of the arrangements and guidance for continued social distancing will be greatly appreciated.
