Captains Update: June, 2019
Lady Captain
May saw the start of this year's Taster sessions with 8 ladies attending on Saturday 18th. They were all very enthusiastic and we look forward to seeing them again after the bank holiday weekend. Come and join us for a coffee.
This year, our "strawberry tea" will be on Thursday 27th June starting at 1pm. This is a charity fundraiser in aid of breast cancer care. Please come and support us.
The B Team welcomed new blood to their ranks for the home match against York on 13 May. Many thanks to Denise Richards and Angela Hodgson who won their games to secure a team win. The team has now achieved one win, one loss and one match halved.
The other two teams have most of their games in June.
Our new mixed event - Friday 9 wine and dine, was held on 24 May. It was well supported, with 6 teams of 4 competing. Many thanks to Katie Clark for organising this. We are now hoping to hold a similar event monthly with a different format each time.

Entry sheets have now been posted on the Golf Club noticeboards for many of the forthcoming 125 Anniversary and other events, including the Trick Shot Day (Competition and Trick Shot Exhibition) on June 30th, Men’s Captains Away Day on July 5th at Cleveland GC, Men’s Captains Day on July 13th and the Hickory Shaft Day on July 28th and. It would be great to see as many people as possible at these events and I look forward to your support.
Last month saw the start of the Men’s team competitions in the Yorkshire League and Tees Union. In appalling conditions, we won our opening foursomes in the Yorkshire 6th division. We also won a round in the Daily Mail competition and are performing satisfactorily in the Tees Union League.
Across all Men’s team competitions there is a tremendous team atmosphere and I would like to thank players, caddies and supporters alike for their efforts.
