Union Team Report: August, 2019

Our union team has remained in contention for promotion to Division 2 throughout July. Since my last report we have completed our remaining matches this season. We have won 16-8 at home to Ineos, lost away to Middlesbrough Municipal 16-8, won 13-11 at home to Richmond, lost 14-10 away to Woodham and finally won our last match at home 18-6 against rivals Hunley Hall. This strong results leaves us with a chance of promotion however, we are waiting on results of Ineos and Barnard Castle, who's matches were rearranged due to unplayable course conditions. They shall play their matches week commencing August 5th.

On Sunday 30 June we played Hanging Heaton GC at Wetherby in the third round of the Yorkshire Foursomes Competition and were narrowly defeated on the day. Many thanks to Dan White and Andy Nelson who represented the club.

On 21st July we played away at Bishop Auckland GC in the third round of the Annodata 5-man team match play competition. Unfortunately, the team were defeated 3.5 to 1.5 but this was a great effort by Andy Nelson, Harry Rowbotham, James Pearson, Stephen Henderson and Dan White who represented the club.

As always, I would like to thank the Club sponsors SG Petch for funding the team clothing.
