The House Committee Update: August, 2019

The July Newsletter advised the intention of the House Team to produce a wish list of what we would like to see done should funds become available. This list has now been generated and includes a diverse range of intended jobs from repair of wooden window sills, replacing carpets in some of the clubhouse areas to replacement and re-upholstery of clubhouse furniture. The list now needs to be prioritised so that we can incorporate the various tasks into a prioritised action plan as funding becomes available.

An electrical inspection has been completed of the entire clubhouse.  This is a time- consuming task and took a number of days to complete. We now have added confidence that all protection settings on the Electrical Distribution Board have been checked and re-validated. Labelling on Distribution Board circuits are also now easier to read should we ever have a problem.

A number of repairs to Lounge and Locker Room toilet facilities and showers have been completed during the month. We had a problem with the new Dish/Glasswasher in the kitchen but were able to get this repaired under warranty.

As you may be aware, a number of our members have passed away over recent months. When such sad things happen, it is our custom and practice that the Club flag be flown at half-mast as a mark of respect. We also try to ensure that the flag is also flown at half-mast on the day of the funeral. This does though take a couple of days for it to be organised and we would respectfully request notification of funeral dates as soon as they can be advised to us.
